Practical guide

Build a collection page that explains the request

Last materially reviewed 2026-09-24

Quick answerTell customers what you are asking for, where it may appear and how to decline before presenting the form.
What to know

Make the purpose concrete

A useful collection page names the experience being discussed and the intended audience for the resulting story. Avoid a generic invitation that could mean private feedback, a public endorsement or both. If you want both, distinguish them. The person should not discover the publication purpose only after spending time recording a response.

What to know

Offer a clear path through the task

Provide the questions, accepted response formats and a realistic description of the effort involved. Do not promise that every submission will be published or that recording always takes a particular number of seconds. People have different devices and needs. Give a contact route for questions without asking them to place private account details in a public testimonial.

What to know

Treat permission as part of the experience

Link the relevant terms in a readable context and explain the intended use in plain language. A checkbox cannot compensate for an ambiguous request. Boast offers hosted collection pages and embedded forms; either route still needs a coherent explanation around the form. The appropriate permission wording depends on the circumstances and may require professional advice.

What to know

Review the page outside the editor

Inspect the actual customer route on a phone and desktop. Can someone read the instructions, move between fields, decline camera access and find a suitable alternative? Does the thank-you page accurately describe what happens next? Check these with fictional content first. The editor preview is useful, but it does not prove the final website integration or every device behaves as intended.

What to know

An original decision example

Illustrative page outline: purpose, short neutral questions, available response formats, intended use, relevant permission explanation and a clear submit or decline path. The confirmation then states whether review happens before publication. This outline is our design recommendation, not a copied merchant template or a claim that all circumstances require identical wording.
