Define what you need to recover
A spreadsheet of text alone may not recreate a published video story. List the original media, approved excerpt, attribution, relevant permission evidence and known public locations. Not every vendor export includes all of these. Ask for exact supported fields and formats rather than interpreting export as a promise that the entire operating process is portable.
Use documented capabilities carefully
Testimonial.to documents CSV export and individual media downloads; Boast’s pricing page lists video and CSV export features, but blank plan-matrix marks do not establish every entitlement. Verify the current account and plan before relying on a specific recovery route. We have not exported a paid customer account or tested cross-vendor migration.
Make files understandable without the old interface
Use stable identifiers and a short index connecting each file to its approved version and context. Do not put sensitive customer details into public filenames or broadly shared folders. A colleague should be able to tell which material is original and which is a prepared excerpt. Keep appropriate access and retention controls around the archive.
Check a sample before ending service
Open representative text and media files and compare them with the source record while authorized access is still available. Confirm that the intended permission evidence and publication list can be retained appropriately. A successful download message does not prove the files are complete or usable. Do not cancel a service or delete the original library until the separate migration and recovery decisions are settled.
An original decision example
Illustrative archive test: select one text record and one video, locate their originals, match the approved versions and find the permission context and known publication locations. If a colleague cannot do that without the old interface, document what is missing. A folder of downloaded clips is not yet a complete handoff.
